“On January 24, 2022 Officer Paul and Officer Desforges located a vehicle at the Sundown Inn that a wanted felon was reportedly seen in. Ofc Desforges and I sat up and surveyed the area waiting to see if we could located the subject. The vehicle is registered to a white family. The vehicle at Sundown inn is confirmed as the same vehicle the subject was reported being seen in. After some time of waiting a white female matching the description of the owner appeared out of a room at Sundown Inn. Through a reliable street source Ofc. Desforges was informed that the subject was on his way to retrieve the vehicle.
The subject arrived and was identified by Ofc. deforges who informed Ofc. Paul that the subject was entering the vehicle and attempting to drive away. Ofc. Paul pulled in behind the subject in his marked unit and activated his emergency lights to stop the vehicle. The vehicle did not stop and a short pursuit ensued. The subject stopped the vehicle in front of a house on Woodward where the subject exited the vehicle without further issue. The pursuit lasted approximately three miles, and reached speeds of fifty five miles per hour in a thirty five mile per hour residential area.
Upon searching the subject pockets for officer safety a small jewelers bag containing a white substance in rock form was located. The subject informed Ofc. Paul that it was crack. Ofc. Paul field tested the substance and confirmed it was crack. The subject also had two hundred and ninety two dollars inside his pocket next to the crack. The money, the crack, and a set of keys to the car were taken and placed in evidence. A second set of keys were left with the vehicle, which were left with the vehicle.
