Downtown Stool Guy Dies After Walking Onto Freeway Trying To Stop Traffic | DALLAS, TX 10.10.21

DALLAS, TEXAS - 9-1-1 received a call about a male causing a disturbance at the Dick's Last Resort on Lamar Street in Victory Park.
The suspect was on foot walking with a bar stool in hand as a weapon. The suspect continued onto the on-ramp to I-35 from N. Lamar Street then doubled back walking into on-coming traffic on the on-ramp to Dallas North Tollway and eventually made it on the I-35 freeway proper northbound lanes walking southbound. The suspect attempted to block vehicles traveling at 65MPH from passing.
A Dallas officer narrowly missed hitting the suspect on the dark freeway while searching for his location, however the suspect abruptly got in the direct path of an 18 wheeler and was struck and thrown.
Dallas Fire-Rescue performed CPR and transported to a nearby hospital but did not survive his injuries in the accident.
Dallas County Sheriffs were investigating the accident.
