Cool conversion: get metal clay extruder for half the ceramic store price
Published at : September 21, 2021
I found an aluminium silicon extruder in my local hardware store for around $30. Here's how to make it work for extruding handles, coils and more for ceramics and pottery.
Apologies for the sometimes blurry footage, my phone was wandering occasionally.
I bought the extruder in a Croatian store called Pevex, but I am sure they can be found around the world, and maybe cheaper in some places like the USA. The plastic piece I use for dies are 5cm water pipe end caps and dirt cheap.
The extruder has a 51mm (roughly 2 inch) tube and is around 36cm (14 inch) long in the barrel.
Happy handle making!
